Feasting in the Valley
As the 22nd Annual Belsnickel Parade had been nearing, the HAHS Belsnickel Committee had been planning for some time, and asking the essential question: "How can we have amazing food and level up without causing so many volunteers to be needed behind the counter readying and serving food?"
That was when the Belsnickel Committee came forward with an idea and a potential fix for all of the aforementioned issues. Food trucks.
Having reached out to 717 Tacos, the Belsnickel Committee was able to get the HAHS into a private Facebook group of the hundreds (yes, hundreds) of food trucks in Harrisburg and the surrounding region, opening up a massive opportunity for growth in the Belsnickel Festival. Once a call for interested trucks was sent out, immediate responses of interest were received, with the final result being...well, more than satisfactory.
Four food trucks made it to the festival: 717 Tacos, Lykens Valley Bison, BFD's Snack Wagon, and Bunches-O-Munches, all of which served delicious, high-quality food to the many visitors of the event. We at the HAHS would like to thank each one of these teams for coming out, spending the day with us and making for a memorable first impression in what we hope will be a lasting partnership at this holiday season!
You all certainly brought a delectable new flavor to the Belsnickel Parade & Festival and we look forward to seeing you all here next year!
